One million copies of the Holy Bible are set to be distributed across Nigeria in honour of Barrister Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in what has been described as one of the largest faith-based initiatives in the country aimed at promoting moral revival and national reorientation among young people.
The announcement was made during a special thanksgiving service held on Sunday at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, drawing prominent Christian leaders, dignitaries, youth representatives, and members of civil society from across the nation to commemorate the occasion.
The thanksgiving event was organised by friends and supporters of Seyi Tinubu and coordinated by Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, the National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN). The initiative, according to Enwere, is not merely a symbolic gesture but a nationwide movement to rekindle faith, strengthen values, and encourage the youth to embrace moral responsibility in shaping Nigeria’s future.
According to the organisers, the one million Bibles will be distributed through churches, Christian youth fellowships, and community-based organizations across all states of the federation. The distribution plan will focus particularly on reaching young people, students, and underprivileged communities where moral and spiritual education is most needed. The organisers believe this project will serve as a moral compass for a generation faced with increasing social and ethical challenges.
Hon. Enwere on the Purpose
Speaking during the event, Hon. Enwere explained that the project is not designed to celebrate an individual but to honour values that embody faith, humility, and service to humanity—principles that he said Seyi Tinubu has consistently demonstrated. He emphasized that the initiative was birthed out of a shared desire to inspire moral transformation and ethical leadership among Nigerian youths.
“This one million Bible project is a gift to the body of Christ and a seed for moral transformation in our nation. Through this effort, we hope to restore integrity, compassion, and love for humanity among young Nigerians,” Enwere declared, stressing that the moral decay seen in society today can be reversed through collective faith-based actions and leadership by example.
He added that faith-based initiatives such as this one are vital in rebuilding trust, unity, and moral discipline in a nation that continues to battle corruption, social unrest, and declining values. The initiative, he said, is a call to young Nigerians to live by biblical principles that promote honesty, respect, and patriotism.
The thanksgiving service also symbolized a moment of national reflection and renewal. It was simultaneously observed in over 40 churches across Nigeria, where congregations joined in prayer for national unity, moral rejuvenation, and divine guidance for the country’s leaders. Each participating church offered thanksgiving prayers for the Tinubu family and for continued peace and progress in Nigeria.
Rev. Ini Ukpuho, Chaplain of the National Christian Centre, officiated the event in Abuja and delivered a powerful sermon urging Nigerians to return to godly values. He emphasized the need for leaders and citizens alike to uphold righteousness and justice in their daily lives. Rev. Ukpuho led special prayers for President Tinubu, his family, and the nation, asking for divine wisdom and protection for all those serving in public office.
Nationwide Commemoration
Across the nation, several clergymen and Christian leaders praised the initiative as timely and significant, noting that the distribution of the Holy Bible represents hope and renewal for a generation seeking moral clarity. They expressed gratitude to the organisers for their vision and commitment to promoting positive change through faith and education.
In a message read on his behalf during the service, Seyi Tinubu expressed deep appreciation to the organisers and participants for their thoughtfulness and prayers. He acknowledged the importance of faith and moral education in building responsible citizens and sustainable national development. Seyi noted that the best way to build a better Nigeria is to empower the youth with values rooted in faith, compassion, and service.
“Our generation must rise with a sense of purpose and moral conviction. Faith teaches us to care, to lead with honesty, and to work for the collective good of our nation. I am deeply moved by this gesture and thankful to God for using this initiative to spread His word and light across Nigeria,” Seyi Tinubu said in his message of gratitude.
During the event, the first batch of the one million Holy Bibles was symbolically presented, marking the beginning of the nationwide distribution phase. These copies are expected to reach churches, schools, youth ministries, and community centers across the country in the coming weeks, supported by volunteer networks and local Christian organizations.
Organisers reiterated that the Bible distribution campaign is not only a tribute to Seyi Tinubu but also a national call for moral reawakening. The programme seeks to encourage Nigerians—especially the youth—to embrace ethical leadership, respect, and a renewed commitment to building a just and godly society.
As the initiative gains momentum, it is expected to inspire similar projects across religious and civic platforms, reaffirming the role of faith in nation-building and community development. The campaign’s ultimate goal remains to remind every Nigerian that true leadership and greatness are rooted in moral integrity, service, and devotion to God’s word.
