A Nigerian lady has gone viral online after narrating her shocking experience at a popular Ibadan-based restaurant that left many social media users talking.

The lady, who was identified as @ade_nike1.0 on the well-known video-sharing platform TikTok, revealed that she was unexpectedly told by one of the restaurant’s staff members that she had to spend a particular amount of money before being allowed to take any photos or videos within the premises.

Sharing her ordeal online, she disclosed that the restaurant management instructed her to make a minimum purchase of ₦60,000 before she could be permitted to capture pictures or record videos inside the restaurant.

Lady’s Encounter In Ibadan-Based Restaurant

In her viral TikTok post, @ade_nike1.0 expressed her shock and disappointment at the restaurant’s rule, emphasizing that such information should have been communicated clearly before customers entered or placed their orders.

“It should be on the website or said before we went in. Not after we got in to place our orders and then you are telling me I can’t take pictures,” she said during her conversation with one of the staff members in the viral clip.

The video also captured the restaurant staff explaining that he only approached them to clarify the restaurant’s policy regarding taking photos and videos. According to him, it was a standard rule that customers were required to meet a spending threshold before being allowed to engage in any form of photo or video shooting inside the establishment.

Although the name of the restaurant remains undisclosed, the incident quickly gained traction online, sparking mixed reactions among internet users who debated whether such a policy was justified or unnecessary. Many viewers found the rule unusual, while others argued that it could be a way for the restaurant to maintain its brand image or prevent distractions caused by social media influencers.
