In a viral clip shared online, Amaka passionately explained that her decision is based on spiritual conviction rather than mere preference. According to her, a man who does not pray in tongues or take part in church activities lacks the spiritual depth required to lead a godly and faithful home.

She went further to describe men who do not engage in spiritual practices as “disloyal” and “spiritually weak,” stressing that such individuals cannot provide the kind of leadership she desires in marriage.

Her comments have since generated mixed reactions among netizens, with some supporting her stance as a personal standard of faith, while others criticized it as being overly judgmental or restrictive in relationships.

Amaka shares her opinion on speaking in tongues and relationships.

Amaka explains her reasons

According to Amaka, men who do not speak in tongues or hold any responsibility in the church are often less committed, both spiritually and emotionally. She asserted that these traits usually reflect in their relationships, making them unreliable and inconsistent partners.

She insisted that a man who is prayerful, filled with the Holy Spirit, and actively serving in God’s house is more likely to be loyal, disciplined, and focused on maintaining a healthy and God-centered marriage.

In her words, she said …

“A man who doesn’t speak in tongues, who doesn’t belong to any society or department in the church, he won’t be loyal. That man won’t be loyal. That man who speaks in tongues, who belongs to one department in the church, will be faithful and spirit-filled. That’s why there are a lot of failed marriages today in our societies, because why get married to a man who doesn’t speak in tongues, who doesn’t belong to any society in church? If you don’t speak in tongues, you can’t get married to me. That’s like a no-no.”

[h2>Faith as a key criterion for marriage

When asked whether her view was too extreme, Amaka maintained her position firmly. She stated that her belief system is grounded in her faith as a Christian, and any man she considers for marriage must share similar spiritual values.

She concluded by saying that for her, speaking in tongues is not just an act of prayer but a sign of spiritual maturity and divine connection — qualities she believes are essential for a lasting marriage.

Her statement reads: “Personally, yes. I’m a Christian, and for you to marry me, that should be a criterion.”

Her video has since gone viral, attracting thousands of comments and shares from people debating whether spirituality should play such a strong role in choosing a life partner.
