X User’s Remark on Uma Ukpai’s Death Triggers Mixed Reactions

The user identified as @ennyola0015 took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her opinion on the late preacher’s ministry, noting that while she admired his evangelistic aura, she still found it difficult to celebrate him even after his death.

In her words, Uma Ukpai carried the grace and presence of a true man of God but his style of ministry raised personal reservations for her.

She wrote:

“Umah Ukpai carries the aura of a true evangelist, but if we look deeper into his methods, I find it hard to celebrate him 🤔even in death. ✍️ Once the Gospel comes with an invoice, the ministry is lost.”

Her statement quickly went viral, attracting mixed responses from netizens. While some users supported her right to express her view, others accused her of being disrespectful to the deceased and insensitive to the mourning family and followers.

During his lifetime, Uma Ukpai was one of Nigeria’s most respected evangelists and the founder of the Ukpai Foundation, known for his commitment to spreading the gospel, organizing large crusades, and engaging in numerous humanitarian causes across Africa.

Following the announcement of his death, tributes have continued to pour in from church leaders, political figures, and members of the public, celebrating his legacy and decades of impact in Christian ministry.

However, the reaction from @ennyola0015 has stirred tension online, as many fans described her comment as “unnecessary” and “poorly timed,” especially considering the grief surrounding the clergyman’s passing.
