Currently enjoying a short vacation in the United Kingdom, Taymesan took to his Instagram page to post a video reflecting on his trip and his unbreakable bond with Nigeria. In the video, the entertainer admitted that, even though he occasionally gets frustrated with the situation in the country, he still feels a strong emotional connection that keeps pulling him back home.

Taymesan humorously described his relationship with Nigeria as an “abusive relationship” — one filled with ups and downs, pain and joy, but still one he cannot abandon. He shared that every time he travels abroad, he begins to feel the urge to return home after just a few days.

“I’ve made peace with the fact that I’m in an abusive relationship with Nigeria,” he said in the clip. “You know those types of relationships where the guy beats the girl, but once they settle, the girl still loves him? That’s exactly how I feel about Nigeria. I no fit stay long for abroad; I’ve never stayed more than 10 to 14 days before I start missing home.”

The entertainer went on to describe the country as a mix of “pain and pleasure,” explaining that even though Nigeria frustrates him, it’s also the place where he finds meaning, laughter, and inspiration. He noted that while the environment can be harsh, the people and the culture have a way of keeping one grounded and hopeful.

“Nigeria gives me pain and pleasure at the same time — I can’t help it; I’m stuck,” he confessed. “I’ve told God that I will take this pain and pleasure from Nigeria as long as He provides for me to escape once in a while to find some peace abroad. But say make I pack my load relocate comot? I no fit! We die here. We’re the leaders of tomorrow; we go build this Nigeria!”

Taymesan’s message struck a chord with many Nigerians both at home and abroad. Some applauded his honesty and patriotism, while others humorously admitted that, despite the country’s challenges, they also find it difficult to completely detach from Nigeria’s vibrant energy and spirit.

His comments have since gone viral, with fans flooding his comment section to express admiration for his sense of humour, relatability, and optimism in the face of the nation’s struggles.
