American rapper Nicki Minaj is reportedly facing a potential financial setback as she risks losing her luxurious $20 million mansion located in Hidden Hills, Los Angeles, due to an unpaid court judgment linked to her husband Kenneth Petty’s ongoing assault case from 2019.
According to reports from The Real Deal and court filings made earlier this October, a German court ordered Minaj and her husband to pay $503,318 in damages to their former security chief, Thomas Weidenmüller. The legal dispute stems from an incident that took place during the 2019 Nicki WRLD Tour in Germany, where Petty allegedly attacked Weidenmüller backstage.

In the lawsuit, Weidenmüller claimed that Petty punched him in the face after a heated argument over a fan’s access to the stage. The assault reportedly left him with a broken jaw that required multiple surgical procedures for reconstruction. Following the incident, Weidenmüller filed a lawsuit, and the court ultimately ruled in his favor, granting him compensation for medical expenses and emotional damages.
However, despite the court’s ruling, the couple allegedly failed to comply with the payment order, leading Weidenmüller’s lawyers to pursue further legal measures. They have now filed a motion seeking authorization to place a lien on Nicki Minaj’s mansion in order to recover the outstanding amount.

Legal documents revealed that Minaj’s Hidden Hills mansion — which boasts over 11,000 square feet, seven bedrooms, and a private pool — carries a $13,258,000 mortgage and a $722,151 homestead exemption. Even after accounting for these liabilities, there remains an estimated $6 million in equity, which is more than enough to cover the judgment debt owed to Weidenmüller.
“The dwelling is subject to a $13,258,000 mortgage lien and a $722,151 homestead exemption… yielding approximately $6 million in equity beyond the lien and exemption. That amount is more than sufficient to satisfy the judgment,” the filing reads.
Weidenmüller’s attorneys further alleged that Minaj and Petty have ignored multiple notices demanding payment, forcing them to take aggressive recovery actions, including the possible sale of the couple’s residence.
As of now, neither Nicki Minaj nor Kenneth Petty has publicly commented on the matter. The case has sparked widespread attention among fans and the media, as it adds to a series of controversies surrounding the couple in recent years.
Petty, who previously served time for a 1995 attempted rape case, has faced ongoing legal troubles, including probation violations and lawsuits. Minaj has continued to support him publicly, often defending their marriage against criticism.
This latest legal complication could potentially impact Minaj’s financial and personal life, given the high-profile nature of her career and her public image as one of the most successful female rappers in history.
Observers believe the outcome of the case may depend on whether the couple settles the debt or if the court proceeds with the sale of her multimillion-dollar Hidden Hills property to recover the owed amount.
The situation continues to unfold, with fans expressing concern for the rapper and curiosity about how the legal drama will impact her future projects and public standing.
