The controversy arose after Verydarkman highlighted a flyer recently shared by Ashmusy, which advertised a program aimed at teaching participants how to earn money through social media. The flyer included a headline suggesting that participants could make N100 million in 10 days for a fee of N36,750.

Verydarkman criticized the flyer, describing the scheme as fraudulent and suggesting that Ashmusy was attempting to exploit her followers for financial gain. The activist’s post quickly gained attention on social media, sparking debates over the legitimacy of the program and the ethics of such promotional materials.

Ashmusy’s response

In response to the criticisms, Ashmusy clarified that she never explicitly stated “make 100 million in 10 days.” She explained that the phrase was simply a headline intended to capture attention, and not a literal promise of earnings. According to her, the flyer clearly outlined the type of businesses participants would learn to make money from on social media, including hair care, skincare, and other entrepreneurial opportunities.

Ashmusy admitted that using a specific figure in the headline may have been misleading, and acknowledged that it would have been more appropriate to use a general term like “money” rather than stating “N100 million.” She emphasized that the figure was not meant to indicate an exact amount participants would earn within the 10-day period, but was rather a marketing strategy to attract attention to the program.

She said in part …

“I never said ‘Make 100 million Naira in 10 days.’ How could I say that? I don’t own any Ponzi scheme or anything of that sort – I don’t understand. On my flyer, what you are going to see is make over 100 million on social media with Ashmusy Social Media Money Blueprint. Then in the next line it said in 10 days you’re going to learn hair care making, skincare making, and different kinds of businesses that you can now work with and make money on social media. That particular write-up was like a headline…” she explained.

Ashmusy further emphasized that her intention was never to deceive anyone, but to provide educational content that could help participants build real income streams through legitimate business activities on social media. She also clarified that the program is structured to teach practical skills rather than guaranteeing any fixed financial outcome within a specific period.

Overall, Ashmusy’s statement aimed to clarify the misunderstanding, stressing that her flyer was intended as a promotional tool rather than a literal guarantee of income. She reaffirmed her commitment to providing valuable educational content and advised her followers to focus on learning and applying the skills taught, rather than expecting unrealistic returns in a short timeframe.
