Family first before fame

The award-winning musician shared that becoming a father completely transformed his mindset and the way he approaches life. He noted that his ultimate goal is to give his daughter the kind of life he never had, providing her with comfort, guidance, and love that will shape her future positively.

According to him, fatherhood has made him more responsible, patient, and hardworking. He said it also taught him the importance of being present for his family despite the busy lifestyle that comes with being a music star. Adekunle Gold explained that his daughter’s smile and Simi’s unwavering support motivate him to keep pushing forward, even during difficult times in his career.

He further disclosed that one of his songs, “My Love Is The Same,” was born out of his deep affection for his family and his determination to always stay emotionally connected to them. The song, he said, serves as a personal reminder of the promises he has made to remain a loving husband and an active father, no matter where fame takes him.

“I can afford to be a failed musician, not a failed father”

Adekunle Gold made it clear that while success, recognition, and awards are valuable, none of them compare to the joy and fulfilment that come from being a good father and husband. He stated firmly that failure in music would never hurt as much as failure in fatherhood. “My family is my centre. I can afford to be a failed musician, not a failed father or man. That’s not negotiable,” he said, stressing that his legacy as a man begins at home.

The “Ogaranya” crooner, who tied the knot with fellow music star Simi in 2019, continues to win hearts not just with his distinctive sound and creativity, but also with his genuine personality, humility, and the love he shows for his family. His story serves as a reminder that true success lies not only in fame or money but in the ability to balance ambition with love, purpose, and family values.
